The Dairy at Daviot – Our First Holiday As A Three

Last week we stayed at The Dairy at Daviot for our first proper holiday as a threesome. We’ve made the trip to visit family in Cardiff a couple of times already and went to the Lake District for an extended family holiday but this was our first time away with just us. It’s become a sort of tradition for us to go on holiday during the last week of May. It’s the week we got married in Santorini two years ago and the week of our babymoon last year. But it really started before our wedding as a way to avoid the high prices and hot temperatures of the summer…

Family Get-Together at Windermere Marina Village

I love a good family get-together. We live on the other side of the country to most of my family so it’s hard to get everyone together unless we travel all the way down there. Now that Dylan is here, it’s not quite as easy to jump on a plane as frequently as we used to. Which is where Windermere Marina Village comes in. A few weeks ago we booked a mini-break to Loch Tay. We’d been given one of those experience vouchers for Christmas where you can choose from hundreds of activities so we decided to book a two course meal at The Killin Hotel. We booked two nights in the hotel as well to make a weekend of it. The drive along the loch to the village of Killin was stunning and the hotel itself looked fairly impressive when we pulled up. After dropping off our bags in a slightly disappointing room, we went out to explore. Dochart Falls is just a ten minute walk from the hotel and we found a…

    Ardanaiseig Hotel

Good Friday was our first day off this year so we decided to venture into the highlands for a relaxed weekend away. I found a deal for a small hotel on the banks of Loch Awe through Secret Escapes (my favourite website – I can easily waste hours looking through holidays I know I will never go on!) which seemed too good to be true and booked it quickly before the prices hiked back up. The drive from Aberdeen to Loch Awe took around four and a half hours, including a stop for lunch in the cute town of Crieff. I love driving around Scotland, just minutes out of town…
